War of 1812 re-enactors portraying British and U.S. soldiers battle along the shores of Lake Chaplain commemorating the 1814 Battle of Plattsburgh. On September 12th, spectators at the Samuel de Champlain monument cheered on soldiers dressed in period uniform. Gunpowder filled the air as muskets and cannons fired, while over a dozen gunboats skirmished on the lake.
