▶ Mary Beth Derrick wins the 5-kilometer race in the Tupper Lake Winter Carnival to gives St. John's its first-ever win in cross-country skiing.
▶ Tim Tetreault comes up big in net for Northeastern Clinton while Norm Garceau, Steve Valach and Tracey LaMere score in a 3-1 hockey win over PHS. The Hornets rebound to defeat St. John's 3-2, ending the Irish's long winning streak. Tim Kelley gets the game-winner and Charlie Williams makes 21 saves for the victory.
▶ Peru wins its own Wrestling Classic for the 12th time in 13 years, ending Queensbury's one-year reign. Clint Duval, Brent Hollamby, Mike Prenoveau, John Barrett and Darryl L'Heureux lead the Indians.
▶ John LaRocque, filling in for his wife, Mary Lou, who had given birth to their son Eric John earlier in the week, leads Saranac to a 42-12 girls' basketball win over NAC. The victory also comes on John's 30th birthday.
▶ Paul Lemza fires in 29 points to rally Moriah past Saranac 66-61.
▶ Paul Arnold hits for 27 points and Rick Provost adds 24 in Willsboro's 66-55 win over Schroon Lake. Chris Speziali leads the Wildcats with 22.
