▶ Fred Gratto's 2-run triple in the top of the ninth sends Saranac on to an 8-6 win over Ticonderoga.
▶ Jeff Chase rips a 2-run triple and Steve Chilton chips in with a 2-run double to lead Northern Adirondack to an 11-1 win over NCCS.
50 YEARS AGO (1962)
▶ Mike Quinn, Alvin Gates and Charles Novak hit home runs for Westport in a 14-9 win over Vergennes, Vt.
▶ 2 former Plattsburgh Falcons teammates oppose each other on the mound in a Texas League (Class AA) contest with Basil Curry of Austin getting the win while Russ Henrichs of San Antonio takes the loss.
▶ Plattsburgh State sophomore Randy Ellsworth pitches a 2-hitter in a 10-3 win over Utica College. Vern Wagar and Don Gertsch each drive in 2 runs while Neil Sesselman contributes 2 hits.

▶ Ivan Scheier edges Al Sharron 4-3 to win the Ping Pong Tournament at the YMCA.
