MVAC announces baseball all-stars

Snide, Russell, Muller earn MVP honors

PLATTSBURGH — Section VII Class D and Division I champion Chazy leads the way with five selections on the Division I All-Star Team for the 2011 Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference baseball season.

Eagles' standout shortstop Kaleb Snide, a key player both offensively and defensively, was chosen as the division's Most Valuable Player, while teammates Ricky Osier, John Tregan, Kyle Bisonette and Kyle McCarthy were chosen to the Division I squad.

Schroon Lake, Chazy's rival within the division, was represented on the team by Anthony Vanderwalker, Matt Savarie and Lance Paradis.

The remainder of the Division I team included Willsboro's Clay Sherman and John Pollock, along with Elizabethtown-Lewis' Tim LaRock.

Division champion and Section VII Class D runner-up Westport/Keene and Crown Point shared the all-star honors in Division II, with Beagles' star pitcher/infielder Kevin Russell repeating as the Most Valuable Player.

David Quaglietta, Sam Earl, Dylan Boyle and James Bell were chosen from Westport/Keene, while Nate Tabor, Tanner Macey, Gabe Macey, Michael DuShane and Joe Foote were the Crown Point representatives.

Division III champion Minerva/Newcomb, which shared the MVAC overall championship with Chazy, had the Most Valuable Player selected in standout pitcher Max Muller and was represented on the all-star team by Morgan Winslow, Austin Williams and Justin Viele.

Named from Johnsburg were Sean O'Neill, Lance Baker and Ben Richards. Rounding out the Division III team were Shane Raymond and Ryan Woodward from Wells, and Hank Evatt from Indian Lake/Long Lake.
