Yamamoto takes FLW lead

PLATTSBURGH — Gary Yamamoto of Palestine, Texas, hauled in five bass weighing 24 pounds, four ounces to take the lead on the first day of the Walmart FLW Tour event on Lake Champlain.

David Wolak (Wake Forest, N.C.) was next with a catch of 22-8, and Arnie Lane of Lakeland, Fla. caught 21-5 to place third.

Greg Scott, who's from Dearborn, Mich., was on top of the Co-angler standings with a catch of 18-8, folowed by Christopher Hall (16-11) and Frank Divis, Sr. (16-7).

The tournament continues through Sunday. Today's takeoff is at 6:30 a.m. from the Dock Street Landing, and the anglers will return for a 2:30 p.m. weigh-in.
