Ormsby's beats E'town to reach men's soccer final

ELIZABETHTOWN — Ormsby’s Well Drilling defeated Elizabethtown 5-4 in penalty kicks Monday night to advance to the championship match in the North Country Men’s Soccer League playoffs.

Ormsby’s will take on Chazy-Giroux’s at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Plattsburgh State for the league championship. Giroux’s beat Ultra Boys to reach the final.

Ormsby’s and Elizabethtown battled to a scoreless draw through regulation and overtime Monday, forcing the penalty-kick shootout.

Matt Ormsby, Ryan Ormsby, Kyle Knight, Jordan Knight and Matt Leta scored for Ormsby’s in the shootout with Hunter Mowery, Evan Knox, John Morris and Clay Sherman countering for Elizabethtown.

Keeper Jess Mack came up with two big saves for Ormsby’s in the shootout while Evan Giroux was in net for Elizabethtown.
