Lake Placid mini tri finale Monday
LAKE PLACID — The last Lake Placid mini tri of the season for kids and adults will be held Monday, Aug. 13. Kids’ registration will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the triathlon at 3 p.m. The adult sign-up will be at 5:30 p.m. and the race at 6:30 p.m.

Open 8-ball tourney slated for Sunday
PLATTSBURGH — An Open 8-Ball Tournament will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Cue Club, in the Airport Plaza on Route 3.
It will be double elimination, race to 5 in the winners bracket, race to 3 in the losers bracket. The fees are $10 green fee, $10 entry with 100 percent of entry fees returned to the top three players.
Doors will open at 11a.m. with registration until noon.

Youth Bureau sponsors free soccer clinics
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau will hold free instructional Soccer Clinics during the Month of August.
Athletes of all ages are welcome to attend. Coaches are encouraged to bring their entire teams. Participants are asked to wear comfortable soccer appropriate footwear; cleats are not required but will be permitted, shin guards are encouraged.
Monday, Aug. 13: 6 to 7:30 p.m.,Village of Dannemora Community Center.
Wednesday, Aug. 15: 6 to 7:30 p.m., Rouses Point Civic Center.
Thursday, Aug. 16: 6 to 7:30 p.m., Grove Field, AuSable Forks.

Bluff Point schedules 3 free golf clinics
PLATTSBURGH — Phil Davis, Bluff Point Golf Resort’s new teaching pro, will offer three free golf clinics, which will be open to the public.
The first will be on Saturday, Aug. 11, and will take place at the Bluff Point driving range. The clinic will focus on pitching and chipping.
The second clinic will be Aug. 18 and will focus on sand shots. It will also be at the Bluff Point driving range. The third clinic, emphasizing putting, will be Sept. 8 at the Bluff Point clubhouse.
On each day there will be two sessions — at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. each day with space limited to the first 15 per clinic.

Alzheimer’s Run to Remember Aug. 18
PLATTSBURGH — The Third-Annual Alzheimer’s Run to Remember in loving memory of Douglas Hoffman will take place on Aug. 18.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the 5k fun run/walk beginning at 9 a.m.
Entry fee for individuals is $15 before Aug. 16 and $20 on Aug. 18. and $20 for families before Aug. 16 and $25 on Aug. 18.
Registrations can be mailed prior to Aug. 16 to 51 Frederick Drive, West Chazy, NY 12992.
All fees collected will benefit the Alzheimer’s Disease Assistance Center (ADAC).
