Goddeau gets 150th win to lead Peru

PERU — Champlain Valley Athletic Conference wrestling champion Peru closed out an 8-0 showing in the league season with a 50-21 victory over Northern Adirondack Wednesday night.

The Indians, tuning up for defense of their Section VII championship on Saturday, won 11 of 15 matches while improving to 19-4 overall.

It was Senior Night for Peru's Jacob Goddeau (132) and Derrick Cumber (285). Both recorded pins, with Goddeau picking up his 150th-career varsity victory.

Kyler Agoney (106) and Troy Seymour (182) also won by fall for Peru.

Max Marte (113) won by technical for the Indians, while

Brandon Goddeau (99), who recorded a 1-0 victory, Jordan Bushey (126), Nick Forget (138), Noah Phillips (145) and Luke McKee (220) all picked up wins by decision. Taylor Bushey (170) won by forfeit.

The Bobcats, who finished 5-3 in league play, received pins from Jackson Sunderland (152), Justin Kellett (160) and Dallas Page (195). Scott Kellett (120) was a winner by decision.

Seniors Kaleb Sample (132), Matt Carter (126), Garrett Gero (182) and Russell Noel (220) wrestled their final regular season matches for NAC.

BEEKMANTOWN — Eathan Bacon and Cody Laplante recorded pins to lead the Eagles past the Patriots.

Bacon's pin came in 1:26 at 120 pounds, and Laplante pinned his opponent in 3:18 in the 195 weight class.

Beekmantown's Gage Bourdeau (182) won by decision, and the Eagles picked up five victories by forfeit.

Dylan Baker of AuSable Valley won by decision at 106. The Patriots earned three forfeit wins.
