BEEKMANTOWN — A balanced team effort was key for Beekmantown on Tuesday.

Every player got on the scoring column, with Emily Anderson scoring a season-high 22 points as the Eagles defeated Northeastern Clinton, 56-43, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls' basketball.

Shannon Ryan and Katrine Fogelstroem each scored all of their points in the first half that saw Beekmantown take a 33-19 lead into the intermission. Fogelstroem tallied 10 and Ryan added eight.

Anderson had eight in the first half then scored all of the Eagles' (11-4, 10-3) nine third-quarter points.

"It was just a strong team effort in the first half on offense and defense," Beekmantown coach Greg Waters said. "We spread the ball out and got a lot of good shots."

Justine Rabideau scored her highest total of the season with 15 points to lead the Cougars (7-8, 7-6), knocking down three triples in the process. Jordan Dominic hit two 3-pointers and added eight points.

PERU — Olivia Carlsson put up 11 points in the first quarter to help the Hornets take an early lead and they held on at the end.

The Indians cut a six-point halftime deficit in half by the fourth quarter and had a opportunities to tie the game.

"We missed some shots. They had three offensive rebounds in the last 1:30, but they still missed two foul shots," Peru coach Ryon O'Connell said. "We got two threes off in the last 15 seconds, and both went in and out."

Marle Curle led all scorers 18 points as the Hornets pushed their winning streak to seven games.

Brianna Hackett tossed in 13 points for Peru, and Mary Mazzella had nine.

TICONDEROGA — Kate Schofield connected for 17 points, including three 3-pointers, in the Knights' win against the Sentinels.

Eva Zalis and Paige Spittler each chipped in with 11 points for Seton Catholic (5-9, 5-8).

"It was close until the third quarter," Ticonderoga coach Shelly Young said. "They went on a run and we couldn't stop them.

"Schofield hit some big threes at the end of the second and the beginning of the third. We just had too many turnovers in the third quarter."

Andrea Rich scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Sentinels (3-12, 1-11).

CLINTONVILLE — Meghan Strong dished out 15 assists and added seven points, and Madison Rondeau added a game-high 12 points to lead the Patriots.

Alexis Facteau added 10 for 16th-ranked AuSable Valley (12-2, 10-2), which held a 31-10 lead at the half.

Ayla Thompson led Lake Placid (2-15, 1-12) with eight points, and Dani Balestrini added seven.

SARANAC LAKE — Stephanie Linder scored nine points in the first half to help the Chiefs take a 25-17 lead and finished with 17.

Alisha Ducatte knocked down three triples and totaled 11 for Saranac (16-0, 12-0), which took a double-digit advantage in the third quarter by holding the Red Storm to three points.

"Stephanie Linder is probably the best player in the league. She always finds a way to get open," Saranac Lake coach David Zerrahn said. "For us, it was a great effort. The kids played with a lot of heart."

Nicole Viscardo led Saranac Lake (3-13, 2-11) with nine points, and Megan Kilroy added eight.

Megan Reynolds added nine points for Chazy (8-8, 7-6) while Katharine Tooke chipped in with eight. Katie Thibault, Jori Cooper and Emily Favreau also had strong games for the Eagles.

"(Keene) played well down the stretch," Chazy coach Matt Devins said. "(Tucker) Geiger played with so much heart. She is a real good player down low."

Geiger paced Keene (1-12, 1-11) with 12 points. Sadie Holbrook finished with eight points.
