Alonguin holding events today, Saturday

PLATTSBURGH — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club on the following outings.

Today, join the ADK for the Wednesday Walk About Town. Meet at 3 p.m. on the steps of City Hall for a walk around a Plattsburgh neighborhood.

On Saturday, Feb. 11, join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK on cross country ski trip on the Jack Rabbit rail from Rock & River north returning to start. The leader is Anne Bailey, and for more information call 563-5795.

Patterson breaks Section VII record

CANTON — Saranac's Micah Patterson broke the Section VII indoor track and field 600-meter dash record on Saturday at the St. Lawrence Invitational.

Patterson finished first in a time of 1:24.3, breaking the record of 1:24.8 set by Seton Catholic's Jason Jabaut in 1999.

Cherry Hill Rabbit Derby Feb. 11-12

SARANAC — The 6th Annual Cherry Hill Hunting Club Rabbit Derby and Roast Pork Dinner will take place on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Saranac American Legion Post 1618.

Prize money will be based on the number of entries. Tickets are available at Saranac American Legion Post 1618, West Plattsburgh American Legion Post 1619 and Square's. Call 293-8592 for more information.

AC North not holding stick-n-puck, skating

PLATTSBURGH — Due to ice bookings, there will be no stick-n-puck or public skating during the Feb. 6- 12 week.
