Patriots hound Northeastern Clinton

CHAMPLAIN — AuSable Valley earned its first win over Plattsburgh High in more than a decade this season.

On Friday, they ended another losing streak in impressive fashion.

The Division II-champion Patriots limited Northeastern Clinton to its lowest point total of the season in a 47-28 victory in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys' basketball.

AuSable Valley (14-1, 11-1), still unbeaten in conference play, hadn't earned a win over the Cougars since the 2004-05 season.

Austin Depo led the Patriots with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Brody Douglass added 11 points.

AuSable Valley limited the Cougars to single digits in each of the first three quarters. The Patriots held a 23-14 lead at the half.

Northeastern Clinton (9-4, 8-3) was held to 22 points less than its season average. The Cougars didn't help themselves at the charity stripe, where they made just 5-of-16.

Kevin Sousa led Northeastern Clinton with seven points coming off the bench.

Beekmantown 74 Moriah 56

BEEKMANTOWN — Keegan Ryan powered the Eagles with 38 points, 11 points and five blocks.

Gregory Manney added 18 points, knocking down five 3-pointers, and Zach Towle added seven points and seven assists for Beekmantown.

Moriah held a 20-15 lead after the first quarter. But Beekmantown (5-9, 5-6) switched from a 2-3 zone to man-to-man and was able to slowly pull away.

Landon Cross scored a team-high 18 points for the Vikings (3-12, 2-10), and Jessup Calkins chipped in with 12 points.

PLATTSBURGH — Rob Fout had 12 points and eight rebounds and Keenan Hunt-Stone added 10 points and eight rebounds to lead the Hornets.

Plattsburgh High (10-4, 10-2) led just 14-13 after the first quarter, but the Hornets limited Ticonderoga to less than 10 points in each of the remaining three frames.

Ethan Votraw added four points, six steals and six assists. With AuSable Valley defeating Northeastern Clinton, the Hornets need just one more league game to clinch the Division I title.

Nate Lenhart and Michael Graney each scored eight to lead Ticonderoga (6-6, 5-5).

PERU — Taylor Rock scored a game-high 10 points and 11 players got into the scoring act for the Indians (11-4, 8-4). Bret Boyer, Alex Barrett, Rock and Mackenzie Mckethan all added seven rebounds.

Peru, leading by a 21-15 score at the half, broke it open with a 14-3 run in the third. Colby Sayah was the leading scorer for Northern Adirondack (1-13, 0-11) with six points.
