Beauvais to shoot for $25,000 at Siena

LOUDONVILLE — Siena basketball fan Bill Beauvais will be shooting for $25,000 from Northeastern Fine Jewelry when he takes aim from half court this afternoon during the Saints' final regular season home game at the Times Union Center.

Last year's finalist, Cohoes native Brendan Bradt, sent thousands of Siena fans into hysteria when he hit the shot from half court and landed the grand prize of $25,000 from Northeastern Fine Jewelry. Bradt will be in attendance at Sunday's game to see if history can repeat itself.

Beauvais was one of 13 fans randomly selected at Siena men's basketball home games during the regular season to participate in the $25,000 Shooting Stars competition. Each fan selected had 45 seconds to score as many points as possible from designated areas on the court. Beauvais racked up 400 points during his shooting session on Jan. 11. As the top scorer, Beauvais earned the opportunity to shoot for the grand prize of $25,000 in cash during Sunday's match up between Siena and Marist.

On the rare chance that Beauvais should fail to drain the jumper, he will still receive a $1,000 gift card to Northeastern Fine Jewelry.

Beauvais, 37, has been a Siena season ticket-holder since moving to Albany in 1996 after graduating from Clarkson University. A native of Westport, Beauvais played on the basketball team at Seton Catholic Central High School.
