▶ Plattsburgh High's Derek Stevens bowls the first 300 game in Section VII history.

▶ Brad DeForge's 2-point decision at 160 pounds helps Beekmantown seal a 33-30 win over Peru. Jeremy Smith, Josh LaSalle and Jacob Rivers earn major decisions for the Eagles.

▶ Nicky Viti comes off the bench to score 23 points in Plattsburgh State's 78-51 victory over New Paltz.

▶ Cristi LaClair scores 21 points to lead Clinton CC to a 57-42 triumph over SUNY Canton.

▶ Tim DeLise drops in 20 points and Adam Favro adds 19 as PHS defeats Seton Catholic 58-47 to snap the Knights' 8-game winning streak.

▶ Ashley Sherman nets 20 points and Aimee Marsh contributes 19 points and 13 rebounds in Westport's 71-50 win over Chazy. The loss ends Chazy's 9-game winning streak.

20 YEARS AGO (1992)

▶ Kevin Thompson and Sean McLaughlin each tally 16 points as Ticonderoga closes in on first place with a 54-42 win over NAC.

▶ Pat Clancy, Jason Venne and Matt Taylor lead the way as Saranac turns back NAC 28-20 in a battle of wrestling unbeatens.

▶ Ryan Sherman sets a Section VII record with 8 3-pointers in Westport's 98-81 win over Elizabethtown-Lewis. Sherman also becomes the career 3-point leader with 94, eclipsing the old mark of 92 set by Tupper Lake's Brent Denis.

▶ Freshman Ann Parks scores 18 points to spur Saranac on to a 45-42 win over Northeastern Clinton. Rian McManus leads the Cougars with 16.

▶ Brian Munn scores 3 goals, including the game-winner 33 seconds into the second overtime, giving Saranac Lake a 4-3 win over Lake Placid.

▶ Aaron Manley's 6 points in the second overtime help Crown Point edge Willsboro 54-52. Doug Allen leads the Panthers with 21 while Mike Doyle scores 22 for the Warriors.

25 YEARS AGO (1987)

E Linda Tripp posts scores of 248, 228 and 233 for a 705 series to become the first woman to bowl a 700 at Plattsburgh Lanes.

▶ Mike Shene nets 22 points as MAI beats PHS 69-61 to take over the Div. I lead.

▶ Northeastern Clinton, citing a lack of numbers, cancels the remainder of its boys' basketball season.

▶ Becky Palmer connects on 17 of 20 free-throw attempts and finishes with 23 points in Clinton CC's 64-47 win over Vermont Tech.

▶ Andy Russell nets 22 points and Dan Brod chips in with 13 rebounds and 7 blocks in Ticonderoga's 78-52 win over PHS.

▶ John Lamar's pin and one-point victories from Jim Thomas and Jeff Hughes lead Peru to a 37-15 win over NAC.

▶ Holman Harley scores 48 points to break his Plattsburgh State single-game scoring record in an 88-87 loss to Norwich.

30 YEARS AGO (1982)

Willy Murphy, Todd Pierce and Eric Arnold score 14 points apiece as Willsboro edges Dannemora 66-65 in a battle for the MVAC lead. Steve LaDuke nets 15 for the Knights.

▶ Bill Brennan pours in 29 points and grabs 15 rebounds to lead unbeaten Ticonderoga past Saranac 57-43. Mark Revette leads the Chiefs with 22.

▶ Andy Light banks in a 22-footer with 5 seconds left to give Beekmantown a 58-56 upset of AuSable Valley. Gerry Danussi scores 15 points and grabs 14 rebounds while Todd Dupell chips in with 16 points.

▶ Paul Monakey tallies 24 points in Tupper Lake's 65-55 win over Saranac Lake. Don Quinn leads the Redskins with 17.

▶ The defense of Margaret Podesta and the scoring of Betsy Trombley and Jenny Johnson carry NCCS to a 52-32 win over Ticonderoga in a battle of division leaders.

▶ Freshman Terri Jo Cornwright scores 12 points and grabs 26 rebounds and Debbie Kohen hits a last-second field goal to give Elizabethtown-Lewis a 39-38 win over Chazy.

▶ Angelo Sutton fires in 31 points, collects 22 rebounds and blocks 4 shots in Plattsburgh High's 67-58 win over MAI. Peter Shene leads the Mount with 26 points and 12 rebounds.

40 YEARS AGO (1972)

▶ Sophomore Clyde Rabideau and Dan Easton lead Saranac to a 29-27 upset of MAC in wrestling.

▶ Neil Columbe's jumper with 20 seconds left gives NCCS a 55-54 win over MAI. Tom Fitzpatrick and Rick Morrison lead the Cougars with 19 points apiece.

▶ Mike Jerdo hits for 31 points, Stu Jerdo adds 18 and Doug Jerdo, 17, in Willsboro's 91-85 win over Westport. Barry Morrison leads the Eagles with 26.

▶ NAC overcomes Mickey Carpenter's 31-point effort to defeat St. John's 84-77. Jim Chilton leads the Bobcats with 29 points while Steve Chilton contributes 18.

50 YEARS AGO (1962)

▶ Buddy DeCarlo, Ronnie Garrow and Leonard Smallacombe open defense of their Northern New York-Vermont Golden Gloves titles with first-round victories. Bobby Smart, also of the Plattsburgh Boys Club, wins his bout.

▶ Ronnie Latour and Georgette LaPorte win the senior 880-yard races in the city and county Youth's Commissions' Skate-a-rama. Mike Blow and Mary Sorrell win the junior division titles.

▶ Bobby LaMare scores 22 points and Laney LaValley adds 13 as unbeaten St. John's tops Beekmantown's 78-59.

▶ Bill O'Hara nets 21 and Dave Gilbo, 17, to lead unbeaten Port Henry to an 82-72 win over Keeseville. Dave Mussen and Gary Blaise each tally 18 for Keeseville.

▶ Marvin Rumrill scores 22 points to lead Altona to an 84-60 victory over Mooers. Bob Mangine nets 29 for Mooers.

▶ Marshall Dubrey's 34-point game sparks Lyon Mountain to a 74-53 win over Chazy. Randy Trahan and Bob Peltier each net 15 for Chazy.

60 YEARS AGO (1952)

▶ Carlton Baker and Tom Arlen each score 14 points to lead Peru over Keeseville 42-34.

▶ Dean Benson scores a split decision over Crawford Gregory of Northfield, Vt. in the Vermont Golden Gloves light heavyweight division.

▶ Tommy Ryan tallies 24 points as MAI beats Catholic Central of Montreal 61-42.

70 YEARS AGO (1942)

▶ Mike Davitt's field goal gives Plattsburgh High a 17-16 win over MAI.

▶ Dave Mitchell scores 2 goals in the Rouses Point Flying Red Horses' 4-2 loss to St. Remi.
