PLATTSBURGH — The road has been good to the Plattsburgh State men's lacrosse team so far.
The Cardinals are off to a 3-0 start to the season, including non-conference wins away from home against Western Connecticut State (14-12), Farmingdale State (22-15) and St. Michael's College (14-12).
Plattsburgh State, which plays its first eight games of the 2010 season on the road, is at Saint Mary's (Maryland) on Monday at noon.
The Cardinals' first home game isn't until Saturday, April 3 when SUNY Maritime comes to town.
Plattsburgh State is being led in scoring by Luke Weidlein (12-7-19), Kyle Norchi (11-4-15), Pete Morgan (5-4-9) and Luke Flegar (5-0-5).
Weidlein finished with four goals and two assists, Morgan four goals and Norchi two goals and two assists in Wednesday's victory at St. Michael's.
Logan Carpenter has been in net for all three of the Cardinals' wins and Ryan Price has a 60-32 advantage in faceoffs.
St. Mary's, meanwhile, is 2-2 on the season. The Seahawks lost their first two games — 22-7 at Roanoke and 7-6 to Dickinson in a game played in Potomac, Md.
St. Mary's then recorded a 9-6 decision over Franklin & Marshall and opened its home schedule with a 17-6 thumping of Wooster on Wednesday.
