Youth 3-on-3 soccer tourney Aug. 14

CADYVILLE — A 3-on-3 coed soccer tournament to benefit the Ecoquest Science Trip will be Aug. 14 at Cadyville Recreation Park. The tournament is for age divisions U-8 to high school.

Adams Glass in Vt. wooden-bat tourney

COLCHESTER, Vt. — Adams Glass, a Senior Babe Ruth team from Plattsburgh, will take part in the Champlain Edge Summer Showdown Wooden Bat Tournament this weekend at Colchester High School.

Adams will meet the Montreal Titans at 10 a.m. and the Colchester Junior Cannons at 1 p.m. today. They will return to action Sunday to face the Washington County Nationals at 10 a.m.

Chesterfield club turkey shoot Aug. 8

CLINTONVILLE — The Chesterfield Fish and Game Club will host a Turkey Shoot Aug. 8, starting at 9 a.m., on the club grounds on Green Street in Clintonville.

Standard Turkey Shoot rules will be followed.

Lunch and refreshments will be available. For additional information, call Bill Mitchell, at 834-2051.

Also, the club will hold an Open 3-D Archery Shoot on Aug. 22. Archers may choose to compete in the Triple Crown event if they have already participated in the Triple Crown events in the Chazy and Siberian clubs; participation will cost an additional $10 at registration.

Registration is from 8:30-10 a.m. with an Early Bird start. Adults and youths are welcome. Lunch is available. Prizes will be awarded.

And, Sept. 11-12, the club will host a Sportsman's Expo, featuring all matters concerning outdoor activities, including gun and knife dealers, archery equipment, ATV and UTV dealers, wildlife art, woodcrafters, and equipment used in sports of all seasons.

Refreshments will be available throughout the weekend; a chicken barbecue will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday. The public is invited to the club from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Entry will cost $3.

Voltage Soccer Academy has openings

CHAMPLAIN — There are still openings for the Vermont Voltage Soccer Academy at Northeastern Clinton Central School.

The first camp will run Aug. 2-6, from 9 a.m. to noon, for boys and girls ages 5-18. The cost is $100, $90 for a second family member. Each participant will receive a soccer ball, t-shirt, and tickets to a Voltage game.

The second camp (the Premier camp) will be held Aug. 2-6, from 5-8 p.m., for high-school players. The cost is $125 and each athlete will receive a soccer ball, t-shirt, and tickets to a Voltage game. This camp is designed to get players in the best shape for the high-school season. Also, there is discounts for other family members.

Dannemora golf position round next week

PLATTSBURGH — The position round in the Dannemora Fun Golf League is set for next week at Bluff Point Golf Resort.

Matches will be based on current standings. A picnic at the gazebo will follow golf.
