Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Saint Lawrence women dominate

PAUL SMITHS — The St. Lawrence women's team swept the top five spots at Wednesday's North Country Invitational cross country meet at Paul Smith's College.

Jenna Hulton won the women's in 20 minutes, 0.6 seconds. Her nearest pursuer, teammate Megan Derby, was about 56 seconds back, followed by Melanie Solandt, McKayla Nuffer and Katie Mannix. The Saints totaled eight runners in the top 10.

Plattsburgh State's Jasmine Boncore placed sixth in 22:13.6. The Cardinals' Sarah Pope and Erika Ozols also cracked the top 20 in the five-team meet that included 73 starters.

Elizabeth Havelin led Paul Smith's with a 17th-place showing and a time of 23:26.7.

Clarkson's Alexander Benway took first in the men's race, clocking 16:53.8. He was followed by Jon Eng of St. Lawrence in 17:12. Eng's teammates accounted for four more of the top 10 spots in a field of 114.

Kyle Dash of Paul Smith's placed ninth (17:48.7), and teammate Ben Palladino was 13th.

Richard Adickes (11th) and Michael Schram (12th) paced Plattsburgh State.
