NAC, Lake Placid coaching forms needed
PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls' soccer preview will run in Friday's Press-Republican. Still missing are coaching forms from Northern Adirondack and Lake Placid, with today at 4 p.m. being the deadline for returning them.

North Stars to honor Sept. 11, PAL Football PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh North Stars game Saturday night against the Vermont Ice Storm will be PAL Football Night at Plattsburgh High School with kickoff 7:30 p.m. There will also be a ceremony in honor of Sept. 11 and to honor all Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue and Military personnel engaged in the fight against terrorism.
The game is sponsored by the New York National Guard and NYSCOPBA. All PAL players who wear their jerseys will be admitted for $2. All Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue and Military pesonnel who have proper ID will be admitted for $4.
North Bowl holding youth sign-ups
PLATTSBURGH — North Bowl Lanes will be hosting its youth bowling sign-ups on Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-noon.
Youth bowlers will be able to bowl two free games when they pay the sanction fee of $17. The youth leagues will begin Saturday, Sept. 18. New youths are welcome to sign up.

Moriah Merchants bowlers meeting Monday
PORT HENRY — Completely remodeled and under new management, the VFW Lanes will have a meeting of the Moriah Merchants league on Monday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m. All captains are urged to attend. Team members are also welcome.
AuSable boosters to meet Monday
CLINTONVILLE — The AuSable Valley Booster Club will hold its monthly meeting Monday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m., in the high-school cafeteria. Everyone is welcome.
Fall Fun Run Series to start Sept. 16
CUMBERLAND HEAD — The Clinton County Youth Bureau will host a Fall Fun Run Series at Cumberland Head State Park. The first in the series will take place Thursday, Sept. 16, at 5:15 p.m. Registration begins at 5 p.m.
The runs are for youth ages 4-13 and their parents. Ages six and under will be running a quarter-mile distance. Ages 7-10 will be running a half-mile distance. Ages 11-13 and parents will be running a mile distance. The same runs will also take place on Thursday, Sept. 23, Sept. 30, Oct. 7, and Oct. 14.
The event is free. There will also be running tips for the participants and awards handed out at the conclusion of the final fun run on Oct. 14.

Peru Lions golf scramble has openings
PLATTSBURGH — The Peru Lions Club has openings for the Stan Hughes Golf Tournament on Sunday. Applications for the 4-man scramble are available at the club.

Miners' golf tourney slated for Saturday
ROUSES POINT — The 10th-Annual Lyon Mountain Miners Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at the North Country Golf Course. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and all teams are asked to report to the clubhouse by 7:30 a.m.

PLATTSBURGH — The Wednesday Columbia Classic 3-Person League at North Bowl Lanes has openings for teams or individuals. The maximum average for teams entering the league is 580.

E'town-Lewis boosters golf tourney Sept. 25
ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown-Lewis Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring a golf tournament Sept. 25 at Cobble Hill Golf Course. It will be a four-person scramble with a 1 p.m. start.
Entry fee is $50 per player with mulligans and skins available at $20 per team.
