Steve Criss of Custom Canvas hits a 3-run homer in the seventh to force extra innings. Scott McCormick has 4 hits and Roy Ebersole and Mike Boyea also homer for Baker's while Robin Vaughan goes 3-for-3 in a losing cause.
Heather Holland scores from Jenny Goff to lift Plattsburgh High to a 1-0 win over host Massena in the Autumn Leaves girls' soccer tournament final. Lisa Zaferakis records 19 saves for the shutout.
Katie Nicknish and Stephanie Frobel score goals to give Seton Catholic a 2-0 win over Chateaugay in the Little Caesar's/TC Sports soccer final.

Bluff Point junior champ Kit Cieri, 18, comes back to score a 2-stroke victory over Jim Couts in the Genesee Open.
Mike Lambert goes 4-0 while Ron Goddeau, Tim Jackstadt, Larry Carpenter and Tom Jackstadt add home runs as Plattsburgh wins the New York State Kmart Slo-Pitch Softball title.

Dick Nephew is the first to win three features for the season at Adirondack Raceway with Dave Gaul, second, and Dick Fowler, third.
Roger Barnard pitches a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts as East Morrisonville defeats Peru 4-0. Dave Duprey tosses a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a losing effort. Tom Golden has the only hit.
Joan Goodspeed beats Eleanor Berger 4 and 2 to win the Bluff Point women's title.
50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Gretchen Siegel defeats Eleanor Washbourne on the first hole of their sudden-death playoff to win the Bluff Point Women's Club Championship.
Nitzi Rabin pitches a 2-hitter with 11 strikeouts, Steve Kistner goes 4-for-5 and Mike Maille is 2-for-2 as the American Little League All-Stars thump their National counterparts 12-2.
National Sportsman points leader Bill Wimble wins the 35-lap Northeastern New York Championship at Airborne Speedway. Buck Holiday, Ernie Reid, Charlie Trombley and Jean Cabana round out the top five.

Former Northern League standout Steve Peek beats the Jersey City Giants 6-1 for his 12th consecutive victory for the Newark Bears of the International League.
Chet Taylor shoots a 32 on the back nine on the Hotel Champlain course to beat the old record of 33 he shared with Tim Gagen. Taylor birdies the 14th and 18th and eagles the 12th.
