BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown and Plattsburgh High set up a fifth straight showdown for the Section VII Class B Volleyball Championship with semifinal victories Thursday.
The Hornets, who won last year 3-1, and Eagles will meet Tuesday with Northeastern Clinton the tentative sit. Northern Adirondack and Lake Placid will meet for the Class C crown at 5:30 p.m. with PHS and Beekmantown squaring off immediately after.
Beekmantown, the CVAC champion and top seed, dispatched Saranac 3-0 in the semifinals while Plattsburgh High shut out Northeastern Clinton 3-0.
"It was neck-and-neck right up to the end. It was much closer than the scores might indicate," said Beekmantown Coach Shana Hileman, whose Eagles won 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.
"Colleen Bradley came through at key times with her serving and Jenna Brault had some big hits for us," she added.
Bradley finished with nine points and four aces while Brault had 14 kills and three blocks.
The action was intense at the net with Beekmantown recording 35 kills and four blocks and Saranac, 33 kills and one block.
"Saranac's hitters were really on. We had to play solid defense and they really tested us," Hileman continued.
Steph Clookey came up with six kills, Brittany Lapham, five, and Bradley and Molly Sorrell, four each.
Emily Heath finished with 10 kills while Kelli Jock recorded eight, Braquel Campion, seven, and Rachel Leitsch, six.

Katelyn Drollett recorded 12 digs and Kelley Drollette, 17 assists, while Kim Plumadore served 10 points to go with 11 assists and nine digs.
Taylor McMahon's serving, 32 kills and 66 digs helped to propel PHS (16-2) to a 25-11, 25-11, 25-16 sweep of Northeastern Clinton.
McMahon, who finished with 14 points and four aces, served 10 in a row in Game 2. She also had 10 digs while Megan Gadzuk-Shea and Laure Ouedraogo led the way with 13 digs. Brittany Bracale and Hillary Miller each had 12 digs. Olivia Harrigan came up with 11 kills and two blocks

Bracale also came up with 27 assists while Gadzuk-Shea served nine points with four aces. Ouedraogo had seven points and two aces and Harrigan, six points and two aces.
"We started off slow in the first. NCCS was doing a lot of different things to get us off tempo. It worked at the start, but we settled in until the third game, when we missed four serves," McMillan added.
Kristen Langr had four blocks and Mallory Honan, three, for NCCS. Elena Sanchez-Freeman had a good all-round game with five points, two aces and two kills.
