AKWESASNE — With only four weeks left in the regular season at the Mohawk International Raceway, the points battles are heating up and so was the action on the race track Friday.
The night kicked off with Round No. 2 of the St. Lawrence Seaway Sportsman Series.
Dylan Evoy came through with his seventh win of the season and 17th of his Mohawk career, putting him atop the all-time Sportsman feature win list.
Evoy held off Josh VanBrocklin toward the end to secure the victory and achievement.
Chris Herbison, Brent Kelsey and Mike Arquiett rounded out the top five.
Billy Dunn held off a late charge from Laurent Ladouceur to pick up his fourth win of the season in the 25-lap 358 Modifieds race. Tim O’Brien, Chris Raabe and Danny O’Brien made up the rest of the top five.
Paul Klager got his second win in a row in the TUSA Mod Lite Series. Bryan Green, Jeff Mat, Scott Waldorff and Jim Bogett rounded out the top five.
P.J. Peters raced to victory in the Pro Stock division, his second win of the year. Dion Oakes, Stephane Lebrun, Jody Swamp and Owen White finished behind him, respectively.
Mathieu Aubin earned his second straight win and fourth of the season in the Bandits division. Jean Marc Larose, Corey Castell, Matt Zira and Stuart Mossow rounded out the top five.
Next week the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino will headline the night for a full program of Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stock, Bandit and Mod Lite action. The green flag drops at 7:45 p.m.
