CADYVILLE — The second annual Section VII Cross Country Invitational took place at Cadyville Rec. Park Saturday.
Beekmantown came away with the victory for the boys’ race, paced by Colin Quackenbush’s third-place finish in a time of 17:13. John Graziane took fourth place of 17:42, while Jordan West finished in 12th place in a time of 18:18.
Plattsburgh’s Jeriqho Gadway captured first overall in the race with a time of 16:12. Seton Catholic’s Mitch Ryan finished second in 17:02, followed by the Eagles’ Quackenbush to round out the top three.
Josh Wade (17:25) was the top finished for Saranac, coming in fourth place. Shawn Silliman (17:42) took seventh for Ticonderoga, and Kyle Fulk (18:23) was the top runner for Norwood-Norfolk, taking 14th place.
Lake Placid’s Corey Detweiler (18:49) finished 20th and Zane Pelletteri (19:14) was the top runner for Saranac Lake, finishing in 30th.
Despite not competing in the team event, AuSable Valley’s Brandon Ruocco (19:01) captured 26th place.
Peru came out on top in the girls’ race, as the Indians had three runners finish in the top five.
Peru’s Ashley Leta outkicked Seton Catholic’s Margaret Champagne to capture the race in a time of 19:19. Champagne came in right after in a time of 19:20.
Meghan Mazzella ran the race in 20:17 for the Indians, good for third place. Cheyanne Dobozy finished fifth in 20:38.
Caycie Saucier (20:31) was Norwood-Norfolk’s top runner, finishing in fourth place. Lexi Blockson (21:03) took eighth place for Saranac, while Elena Beideck (21:45) was tops for Saranac Lake to take 12th place.
Naomi Forkas (22:04) paced Ticonderoga with her 13th-place finish, Claire Deshaies (23:26) was the top runner for Plattsburgh and finished 23rd, while Rachel Kashorek (24:33) led the way for Beekmantown with a 30th-place finish.
