KEENE VALLEY — Elizabethtown-Lewis got the go-ahead bucket with 2.6 seconds remaining in regulation to defeat Keene, 45-43, in a tightly-contested Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference boys' basketball game Monday.
Keene held a 5-point lead after the third quarter, but Elizabethtown-Lewis outscored the Beavers 16-9 in the final frame.
Evan Drew dropped in 15 points for the Lions, while Hunter Mowery chipped in 11.
"We played a great game, Keene coach Paul Davis said. "We had a great lead, but at the end of the game we were just picking up fouls left and right.
"That's what put them over the line, they got to the foul line a lot more than we did."
Luke Andrews scored 17 for the Beavers.
