PLATTSBURGH — Olivia Harrigan made sure the Plattsburgh High School volleyball team broke its rare two-match losing streak Friday night.
Harrigan played a huge match with eight points, 18 kills and five blocks to lead the Hornets to a 3-0 win over Northern Adirondack in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action.
PHS (2-2) prevailed by game scores of 25-9, 25-14, 25-19.
"It was nice to get a win after losing two in a row," said PHS coach Victoria McMillan. "Harrigan probably played her best match of the season thus far.
"Hillary Miller and Taylor McMahon played well for us on defense."
Miller finished with 10 points and 12 digs, while McMahon had five points, four kills and 10 digs.
Brittany Bracale contributed 28 assists for the Hornets and Laure Ouedraogo chipped in with seven points, five kills and eight digs.
The Bobcats (2-2) were led by Chelcie Trombly with nine points, two kills and five digs. Bethany Drown added seven digs.

BEEKMANTOWN — Brittany Lapham finished with 14 points, six aces and 23 assists as the Eagles blanked the Blue Bombers, 25-11, 25-9, 25-5.
Lauren Gonyea and Krysten Koktowski added 10 points each for Beekmantown. Colleen Bradley led the Eagles in kills with nine and Jenna Brault followed with eight.
Ali Baumbach and Christyne Ellis each had two kills for Lake Placid.
