PLATTSBURGH — Logan McDougall scored twice for Saranac Lake Friday night as the Red Storm dumped Beekmantown, 4-3, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference hockey.

Beekmantown battled back from a 3-1 deficit, but Saranac Lake's Tyler Randig scored the game-winner on a deflection late in the third period.

"I give Saranac Lake a lot of credit for traveling on a cold night and playing a good, hard-fought hockey game," Beekmantown coach Justin Frechette said.

Beekmantown's Brett Carnright knotted the game at 1-apiece shortly after McDougall gave Saranac Lake the lead. However, Drew Tedford and McDougall scored early in the second period to gain a 3-1 advantage.

Ethan Waite cut the deficit to 3-2 with a second-period goal on an assist from Kyle Mathieu and Cole Carter.

Mathieu then tied the game at 3-all before Randig netted the deciding score.

Dolan Riley tallied two assists for the Red Storm, and teammates Devin Darrah, Sam Annis and Nicholas Magro each had one helper.

Frank Buksa assisted on Mathieu's goal.

Beekmantown (3-1) hosts Niskayuna today at 1:30 p.m. at Lake City Stars Arena.

"We played well in the second half of the game," said Plattsburgh coach Jamie Reidy. "We played well enough to win, but we'll have to step up a little bit to be ready for Saranac Lake on Wednesday.

"We did the basics a little better tonight and our top line of Worley, (Ryan) Latinville and Conroy played well."
