CROWN POINT — Crown Point converted 8-of-9 free-throw attempts in overtime Wednesday to post a 44-37 victory over Schroon Lake in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference girls' basketball.

Jessica Potter, who led all scorers with 26 points, gave Crown Point a shot at the win with a stellar fourth-quarter performance. She accounted for all eight Panther points in the period, including three clutch free throws with no time remaining to send the game into overtime.

With only seconds remaining, Potter grabbed a defensive rebound, dribbled the length of the court and put up a 3-point attempt. She missed, but was fouled in the act of shooting. Then, Potter, standing alone on the court, sank three foul shots to knot it at 30 at the end of regulation.

Marissa Titus grabbed 10 rebounds while Potter and Heather Bemis collected nine apiece.

Jocelyn Bowen scored 20 points, including 15 on 3-pointers, to lead Schroon Lake. The Wildcats outscored the Panthers 35-28 from the field, but were outdone at the free-throw line, where Crown Point held a 16-2 edge.
