PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team, fresh off winning the championship in the Cardinal Classic last weekend, hit the road for a non-conference game at Clarkson University tonight at 6 p.m.

Plattsburgh State is currently 3-1 on the season after winning its tournament with victories over Norwich University (77-66) in the opening round and Husson (72-70) in the finals.

Errol Daniyan leads the Cardinals in scoring at 17.8 points per game, followed closely by Steve Thomas at 17.5 and Chris Ruiz, 14.3. Daniyan also leads the team in rebounding at 8.5, with Thomas second at 7.0.

The Golden Knights, meanwhile, are 3-0 thus far with wins over Cazenovia (76-62), SUNY Canton (71-61) and Potsdam State (83-62) to their credit. The victory over the Bears came last weekend.

Clarkson has three players averaging in double figures, led by Elson Pickering at 17.0. He is followed by Keith Murray (11.0) and Jonathan Hood (10.7).

Tonight's game begins a busy week for the Cardinals, who host St. Lawrence on Tuesday before opening their State University of New York Athletic Conference season this coming weekend at New Paltz on Friday and at Oneonta on Saturday.
