TROY — The Lake Champlain Waves swim club opened its 2009-10 season Oct. 25, sending 14 swimmers to the Trick or Treat Meet at RPI College.
Alexis Kelly, in the girls' 11-12-year-old division, led the charge with a second-place finish, two fifths and one seventh. She placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1.02.64, which is 8.26 seconds faster than her previous best. Kelly also took fifth in the 50 freestyle, 29.67, and the 50 butterfly, 31.22. She was seventh in the 100 individual medley, 1.13.74. All of Kelly's times were personal bests.

Preston Ihrig (age 7) — 25 backstroke, 6th, 25.07; 25 butterfly, 8th, 35.07; 25 freestyle, 10th, 24.22; 50 freestyle, 13th, 58.02.
Sierra Cotrona (girls' senior division) — 200 freestyle, 5th, 2.09.04 (0.58 seconds faster than her previous best). 200 IM, 13th; 100 breaststroke, 13th.
Brooke Kelly (10) — 50 breaststroke, 9th, 45.19(3.68 seconds faster than her previous best). 100 freestyle, 10th, 1.17.99 (personal best); 50 butterfly, 15th (personal best); 100 IM, 16th (personal best).
Hayden Reidy (boys' 11-12) — 50 breaststroke, 13th, 45.12. He also swam in the 50 Yard Free, the 100 Yard IM, and the 50-yard Backstroke. Reidy recorded personal bests in all of his events.
Ben Ford (boys' senior division) — 500 freestyle, 14th (knocked 47.91 seconds off his best time. 200 freestyle, 18th, 2:08.78; 200 IM, 2.21.72 (13.79 seconds faster than his personal best); 100 breaststroke.
Zackery Raymond (boys' 9-10) — 50 butterfly, 14th, 56.30; 100 freestyle, 1.35.64; 50 freestyle, 49.56.
Rebecca Brown (girls' senior division) — 200 freestyle, 18th, 2.27.00; 500 freestyle, 6.28.56 (5.66 seconds faster than her personal best). 100 butterfly, 1:18.85 (personal best); 100 backstroke.
Tenzin Dorjee (girls' 9-10) — 100 freestyle, 1.34.99 (lowered her personal best by 23.35 seconds); 50 freestyle (personal best); 50 backstroke; 50 breaststroke.
Zoe Porter (girls' 11) — 50 breaststroke, 48.29 (17.18 seconds faster than her previous best); Also swam in the 50 freestyle (personal best), 50 backstroke (personal best) and 100 IM.
Taylor Hall (girls' senior division) — 50 freestyle, 30.40. Also swam in the 200 IM, 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle.
Stella Boolukos-Brinker (girls' 11-12) — 100 IM, 1.31.09 (13.81 seconds faster than her previous best). Also competed in the 50 freestyle, the 50 backstroke, and the 100 freestyle, lowering her best time in all of her events.
Mikayla Fountain (girls' 9-10) — 50 freestyle, 55.36 (personal best, 0.94 second faster than her previous best). Also swam in the 100 IM, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke.
Spenser Hall (boys' senior division) — 50 freestyle, 31.07 (personal best, 2.56 seconds faster than his previous best). Also swam in the 200 IM, 100 breaststroke (personal best), and 100 freestyle.
