"We just had some mental mistakes and some costly turnovers in overtime," Clinton coach Kevin Daugherty said.

The Cougars took a lead in the second half after going down 28-22 at the half. But Adirondack forced overtime and then handed the Cougars their first loss.

"We had another slow start. It's been a characteristic of us so far," Daugherty said.

Anthony Hodge paced Clinton (4-1) with 14 points and Sharief Saunders notched 13, including three 3-pointers.

The Cougars return to action Saturday when they travel to face Cayuga Community College at 2 p.m.
