Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Mattioli tosses first 800

You can look back over the last 70 years at some of the area athletes and personalities who made headlines in area sports. Flashback will revive memories of great local athletes and outstanding team successes.

PLATTSBURGH — Jeff Mattioli recorded the first 800 series of his bowling career when he tossed a 279-279-253-811 to lead Hynes Electrical Supply to a 3-0 win over G & L Construction in the Monday Night Classic, sponsored by Pepsi-Cola, at North Bowl Lanes.

Aaron Underwood added a 218-257-213-706 triple for Hynes, while Kris Bedard rolled a 220-278-223-721 for G & L.

Mike Mendofik tossed a 256-269-202-727 as first-place Team #6 recorded a 2-1 victory over North Bowl Lanes. Joe Guido rolled a 247-279-741 and Nick Bouyea a 247-268-226-741 for North Bowl Lanes.

Subway posted a 2-1 win over Team #3, despite Darrell Newell rolling a 202-256-243-701.
