E&E gridders repeat

You can look back over the last 70 years at some of the area athletes and personalities who made headlines in area sports. Flashback will revive memories of great local athletes and outstanding team successes.

PLATTSBURGH — E&E; Construction captured the regular-season championship of the Plattsburgh Flag Football League for the second consecutive year with a resounding 38-0 victory over Met Life last Sunday.

Tanner Currier threw five TD passes to lead E&E.; He hooked up with Matt St. Clair on bombs of 32 and 50 yards, Paul Bruno for a 37-yarder, Trevor St. Clair on a 32-yard strike and Neil Stevens for 39 yards. Currier also passes to Trevor St. Clair for two extra points. Jordan Keleher added a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Paul Bruno also had an interception, as did Craig Bujold for Met Life.

Budweiser 18

Larry Cook (90 yards) and Chris Fish (23) returned interceptions for touchdowns in Wooden Ski and Wheel's narrow victory. Nick LaBounty hit Fish with a 34-yard TD toss and also passed to Fish for a point after. Nick LaBounty added an interception.

Tom Livsey threw TD passes to Chris Verkey of 80 and 76 yards and also ran for a 3-yard score. Dan Marbut and Tom Rafferty had interceptions.

Chris Castine threw three touchdown passes — to Mike Castine (22 yards), Mark Kiroy (14) and Tim LaCount (15). He also hit Mike Castine for an extra point. Nate Bilow, Mike Dobson and Kent Fessette had interceptions.

James VanValkenburg picked off a pass for Coors.
