Injured Massena football player OK
MASSENA — Dylan Jarvis, the Massena football player who was taken to the hospital during a game against Peru Saturday, was not seriously injured, Massena coach Anthony Diagostino confirmed. Diagostino said Jarvis was knocked unconscious for a short period of time.
Heymann Races to Fourth Weekly Honor
FREDONIA — For a personal-best fourth time this season, Plattsburgh State junior Mike Heymann has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference Male Runner of the Week. Heymann earned the honor after winning the Saratoga Invitational hosted by RPI last weekend.
He completed the race in 24:17.69 and helped the nationally-ranked No. 34 Cardinal team post a second-place finish behind Keene State. Heymann finished 1:14 ahead of his nearest competition and 1:39 ahead of his nearest SUNYAC rival.
Braun Wins First Runner of Week Award
FREDONIA — Plattsburgh State sophomore Stefanie Braun has picked up her first State University of New York Athletic Conference Runner of the Week honor. Braun earned the honor after finishing in seventh-place at the Saratoga Invitational hosted by RPI last Saturday in a personal-best time of 18:25.12.
Braun completed the race just 19 seconds behind her All-American teammate Jenny Schaffhouser and 28 seconds ahead of her closest SUNYAC opponent.
Gonyea scores twice in B'town victory
CLINTONVILLE — Lauren Gonyea scored two goals and Bailey Waterbury, Alissa Momot and Jessica Huber each scored one Monday in Beekmantown's 5-0 victory over AuSable Valley. Amanda Peterson, Taylor Manor, Momot and Waterbury were credited with assists.
