Don’t assail or impugn an identifiable individual or group. If you have that kind of criticism, sign your name and submit it as a Letter to the Editor. (There is some leeway on this in connection with public officials, but it is not unconditional.)

Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Peru, PHS win in swimming

CLINTONVILLE — The Peru girls' swimming team remained unbeaten with a 104-64 victory over host AuSable Valley Tuesday.

The Indians won seven of the 11 events. Molly Wilkins took first in three events. She won the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle and was also a part of the first-place 400 freestyle medley. That team also consisted of Amber Geddes, Kelsie Miller and Sara Connelly.

Miller won the 100 backstroke, Caitlin Houle won the 50 freestyle and Sara Connelly took first in the 100 breaststroke.

Geddes, Houle, Baily Haber and Kelly Jones won the 200 freestyle relay.

Sierra Cotrona had a strong showing for AuSable Valley, winning two individual events — 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle. She also teamed with Alex Casey, Brittany Friedrich and Alexis Facteau to win the 200 medley relay.

Friedrich came in first in the 200 individual medley.

PORT HENRY — Christine Cassone and Taylor Hall each had four first-place finishes to lead the Hornets, who won all 10 races.

Cassone won the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke and helped win the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Hall was part of the medley relay and the 400 free relay and touched first in the 100 backstroke and the 500 free.

Alexis Kelley won the 50 free and was on the 200 free and medley relay teams. Lauren Malone took first in the 100 free, and Sam Waterhouse finished first in the 200 individual medley.
