10 YEARS AGO (1999)
Robert Mason runs for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns as unbeaten AuSable Valley snaps Saranac Lake's 16-game winning streak with a 36-12 victory.

Brendan Hayes runs for 2 scores and Tim Arsenault, Cory Coady and Tom Larkin spearhead the defensive effort as Tupper Lake downs Moriah 14-0.

Amber Goppert scores her 100th career goal in Malone's 1-0 win over Salmon River.

Nikki Labarge, Melissa McCormick, Hilary Stockbridge and Lindsay Oertel lead Peru to an 87-83 win over PHS, ending the Hornets' 7-year unbeaten streak in girls' swimming dual meets.

Clayton Belzile scores twice and Mike Lagree and Tom Mathews each add a goal in Clinton Community College's 4-1 win over SUNY Canton in men's soccer.

Ryan Anctil gets both goals in Northeastern Clinton's 2-1 upset of previously unbeaten PHS in boys' soccer.

20 YEARS AGO (1989)
Chad Welch and Mike Hartigan score goals and Todd LaFountain assists on both as unbeaten Northeastern Clinton rallies to beat Peru 2-1. Joe Bodenrader scores for the Indians.

Ronnie Kirk links up with Mark Sawyer on a 17-yard, fourth-quarter scoring strike, lifting unbeaten Beekmantown to a 6-3 win over Saranac Lake. Ian Breen kicks a 26-yard field goal for the Redskins.

Rebecca Dayton and Tania Pfund lead Westport to a 3-2 upset of Chazy in girls' soccer.

Rob McAuliffe scores 4 goals in Chazy's 5-2 win over Crown Point.

Mike Pierce scores the game-winner as Elizabethtown-Lewis knocks off previously unbeaten Willsboro 2-1 in boys' soccer. John Blades also scores for the Lions while Glenn Cassavaugh gets a goal for Willsboro.

Phoebe Decoste scores the goal and Michelle Pageau comes up with 20 saves as Northern Adirondack upsets NCCS 1-0 in girls' soccer.

25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Allison Stewart, Beth Tobrocke, Liz Mammano and Kate D'Aran win the 400-yard freestyle relay to give PHS an 88-84 win over St. John's in swimming.

Walter Boyd runs for 162 yards and 4 touchdowns in Peru's 34-21 win over PHS. Tony Fazzone tosses 2 TD passes for the Hornets.

Lisa Noel scores from Tammy Yaw to give Ticonderoga 1-0 win over PHS in girls' soccer. Amy Heustis makes 21 saves for the shutout.

Carissa Barber scores 2 goals while Beccy Prim and Kim Miller each add a goal and an assist as Beekmantown tops MAI 4-1 in a battle of division leaders in girls' soccer.

30 YEARS AGO (1979)
Greg Ryan scores one touchdown and Brian Miller runs in a fumble recovery from 68 yards out as MAI tops St. John's 14-0 for its win over the Irish in 11 years.

Cathy Dumas, Juliette Jabaut and Charlene Palmer lead Clinton CC to volleyball victories over Fulton-Montgomery and Albany Junior College.

Marshall Phillips scores 4 goals in unbeaten Elizabethtown-Lewis's win over Crown Point.

Mary Kay Wilkes scores twice and Deanna Wemett makes 22 saves as Schroon Lake tops E'town-Lewis in girls' soccer.

Mike Crowley picks off 2 passes and Joe Provost and Bill Currier one each as the PHS defense shines in an 18-0 win over AuSable Valley. Mike Garrant and Steve Poulin also recover fumbles for the Hornets.

Jeff Doorey runs for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns and Steve Betrus picks up 109 yards and a TD in Peru's 25-8 win over Ticonderoga.

Chuck Coventry returns an interception 38 yards to the OFA 8 and Ty Fobare hits Kyle Munn with a TD pass as Saranac Lake beats the Blue Devils 7-6. Mike Sardella kicks the game-winning PAT.

40 YEARS AGO (1969)
Butch Martin throws 4 TD passes — 3 to Brian Bliss and one to Ray Rumsey — in Lake Placid's 32-6 win over AuSable Valley.

Brent Dupee runs for 198 yards and 2 scores as St. John's defeats Peru 20-8.

Mike Perry pitches a 4-hit shutout and Tom Kowalowski belts a 2-run homer as Lyon Mountain wraps up the St. Lawrence Valley Baseball League title with a 5-0 win over Fort Covington. Fran Shusda goes 4-for-4 for the Miners while Bob White has 3 hits, including a 2-run single.

Jerry Cook wins the 50-lap finale at Airborne Speedway, but Dick Nephew claims the track championship.

David Olcott's 3 goals lead unbeaten Elizabethtown-Lewis to a 6-2 win over Keene.

Jay Munson's goal lifts Crown Point to a 1-0 win over his former Westport teammates.

50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Harlan Rock gets 2 hits, including a homer, and John Walker has 3 hits and steals 2 bases as Peru's completes a 2-game sweep of Lyon Mountain in the Adirondack League championship series. Elmer Duprey also has 3 hits for Peru while Tolosky has 3 for the Miners.

Roger Adams scores twice in Westport's 4-0 soccer win over Crown Point.

Joe Lavarnway and Bernard Ducharme goal to lift Dannemora over Champlain in soccer.

60 YEARS AGO (1949)
Paul Vallieres and Milt Rockwell each get 3 hits to lead the Plattsburgh Genesees to a 12-8 win over Bloomingdale in the deciding game of the Adirondack League baseball championships. Strobel, B. Stephenson and R. Benware all have 3 hits for the Firemen.

Jim Sears runs for a touchdown and 2 extra-points and Gerry Holland adds a TD in St. John's 14-13 win over MAI. Hillard McMullen and Sid Spiegel score for the Mount.

Joe Lashway's 3 goals lead Peru past Champlain in boys' soccer.

70 YEARS AGO (1939)
Ray Barry runs for 3 TDs in Plattsburgh High's 19-6 win over St. John's. Hobby O'Brien throws a TD pass to Roy Gallant for the Irish.

Marshall Jones bowls a house record 273 game and 636 series in Malone and Emile Leroux then breaks the series mark with a 685 the same night.
