PLATTSBURGH — Peru figured to be the team to beat in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls' swimming this fall and in its first meeting with arch-rival Plattsburgh High Friday, the Indians did not disappoint.

Peru (3-0) won every event except one with senior captain Sara Connelly, classmate Caitlin Houle and junior Molly Wilkins each taking four firsts in a 107-63 victory over PHS (2-1). Kelsie Miller was a three-time winner and Amber Geddes a double-winner for Peru.

PHS, which lost all-stars Hannah Saiz and Simone Arvisais-Anhalt to graduation, was led by Christone Cassone, who won the 50-yard freestyle. Cassone also came in second in the 100 breaststroke.

Peru went 1-2 in the 200 individual medley and the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle events in addition to sweeping the relays.
