Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

Drowne, Dunham set pace at Run for Jon

PERU — Jeremy Drowne and Sarah Dunham topped 156 competitors to finish as the overall male and female competitors at the 26th Annual Run for Jon through Forrence Orchards on Saturday.

West Chazy’s Drowne covered the 2.5-mile course in a blistering 12 minutes, 43 seconds, 33 seconds ahead of second place Matt Medeiros of Saranac.

Mitchell Ryan, the top finisher in the 13 to 19 age group, finished third in 13:32.

Dunham finished in a time of 13:46, two minutes ahead of the second overall female finisher Margaret Champagne. The win marked Dunham’s sixth, race organizer Scott Woodward said.

Melissa Whyman, the top finisher in the 13 to 19 age group, finished third in 17:10.

The race helps to raise money for families who have children in medical crisis. Woodward said this year’s event raised more than $4,000.
