Clarkson coach wins Paul Smith's Duathlon

PAUL SMITHS — Jim Allott of Potsdam won the End-of-Summer Duathlon hosted by the Paul Smith's College Striders Sunday.

Allott finished in 37:31, easily defeating the collegiate competitors from both his Clarkson University program and those from the host Paul Smith's College team. Josh Kush, a senior at Paul Smith's College placed second in 38:20, followed by Jason Amoriell of Peru in 38:42, who was the men's Master's winner.

Julianne Stemp of Saranac Lake was the women's winner, finishing in 44:16, while Amanda Zullo also of Saranac Lake placed second in 45:37. Saranac Lake High School student Hillary Pond placed third in 47:23.

Diane Litynski of Paul Smith's College (Saranac Lake) won the women's Master's Division (age 35 — 49) in 47:46, while Karen Delaney of Lake Placid won the Women's Veteran class (age 50+) in 47:44.

In the team event, Matt Piper and Ethan Gilmour of Paul Smith's College teamed to win in 35:21.

Derek Scott and Ashley Rokjer of Paul Smith's College won the mixed team category in 48:12, followed by Ryan Turner and Barbara Sanchez in 1:00:18.
