ST. PETER, Minn. — Three Plattsburgh State players received All-America honors Thursday, led by first-teamer Stephanie Moberg.
Moberg, a senior forward, made her second straight appearance on the East First Team, while goaltender Mandy Mackrell and defenseman Kara Buehler made the East Second Team for the first time.
Isabel Iwachiw (Trinity), Jamie Kivi (Elmira), Randi Zukas (Amherst), Sarah Dagg (RIT) and Katie Stack (RIT) all made the East First Team. Iwachiw also received the Laura Hurd Award, given to the player of the year.
The awards are given out by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
Moberg led Plattsburgh State with 25 goals and 43 points, both career highs. The Saratoga Springs native was named First-Team All-ECAC West and ECAC West Player of the Year earlier this month.
Moberg was the runner-up for the Hurd Award.
Mackrell, a junior from Cleveland, Ohio, took over Plattsburgh State's starting goalie job this season and posted a 17-3-2 record with five shutouts. The ECAC West named her Goalie of the Year.
Buehler picked up a career-high 19 assists as she helped anchor the Plattsburgh State defense. The junior from Skaneateles was also an All-ECAC West selection.
The Cardinals finished the season at 23-3-2.
