CVAC seniors wrap up careers

CLINTONVILLE — The Champlain Valley Athletic Conference basketball season came to a close Tuesday night with the annual Senior All-Star Games at AuSable Valley.

The Away Team, down 46-38 at the half, rallied for a 82-77 victory over the Home Team in the boys' contest.

Malo Valerien led the Away Team with 19 points, while Kyle Knight added 12, Connor Chapman 11 and Hayden Whalen, 10.

Robert Duquette tossed in 21 points and Kaleb Gohlke 12 for the Home Team. Connor Gach and Nathan Gilbo each added eight.

In the girls' contest, Sam Diehl tallied 14 points, Shannon Passno 12 and Michelle Taylor eight to pace the Away Team to a 62-60 victory.

Katie McCasland led the Home Team with 13 points and was followed by Jade Pellerin with nine and Kate Murnane, seven.

In the three-point contest, Valerien was the winner for the boys while Morgan Flynn won the girls' competition. Valerien then won the shootoff. Duquette was the winner in the dunk contest.
