SARANAC — One swing of the bat Sunday changed the whole complexion of the day.
Matt Rivers slugged a two-out, walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres a 4-1 win over the Plattsburgh Cardinals in Champlain Valley Baseball League play.
The Padres (6-6) then completed the sweep of the Cardinals (8-3) with a 7-2 victory in Game 2.
The first game featured an outstanding pitching duel between the Padres' Jordan Keysor and the Cardinals' Steve Burris. Keysor struck out 10 and allowed two hits, while Burris fanned nine and surrendered four hits.
Plattsburgh scored a run in the top of the fifth on a throwing error and it nearly stood up.

Burris struck out the next two batters before Rivers, with one strike on him, won the game with a drive over the fence in left center.
Rivers finished with two hits and Mark Eggleston doubled for the Padres. Craig Bujold and Dustin Currier each doubled for the lone hits off Keysor.
In Game 2, Rivers continued his big day as he went the distance for the pitching victory as he allowed five hits and struck out four.
