Travis Bruno wins Sportsman Modified feature

PLATTSBURGH — The Airborne Speedway story in Sunday’s sports section incorrectly identified the winner of the Sportsman Modified feature. The winner was Travis Bruno, and it was the first career victory for the Morrisonville driver.

 

Rubin Memorial hole assignments

WESTPORT — The Eighth Annual Mark Rabin Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, July 25, at the Westport Country Club.

The Shumway Insurance Agency Sledgehammer Putting Contest begins at 10:30 a.m., and the tournament play begins at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Dinner and awards Ceremony begin at 6:30 p.m.. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Plattsburgh College Foundation.

Nature walk set for July 25

PLATTSBURGH — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for a nature walk at the Saranac New Land Trust (NLT) on Wednesday, July 25.

The group will explore the natural diversity, birds and beaver pond activity.

The nature walks are a new weekly series led by Jim King each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. For more information, call Jim King at 310-1164.
