NAC grabs revenge on Beekmantown in wrestling

ELLENBURG — Host Northern Adirondack won eight of the first nine matches of the evening and settled for a 47-22 victory over Beekmantown in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference wrestling on Wednesday night.

“Our boys were confident after a tough loss to Saranac at the start of the season,” said NAC coach Jamie Gilmore. “Since then, we’ve gone 11-1 in dual meets.”

Winning by pin for the Bobcats were Rusty Pombrio at 120 pounds, Tyler LaPoint at 126, Scott Kellett at 138 and Dallas Page at 220.

Austin Trombley was a winner by technical fall at 113, while picking up victories by decision were Collin LaBombard (145), Hunter Carpenter (152), Leon Riley (160) and

Roland LaPoint (99). Justin Kellett was a forfeit winner at 170.

Prevailing in close matches for the Bobcats were Carpenter with a 7-5 win over Zachary Myers and Riley with a 5-3 decision over Dylan Peryea.

Jon Graziane recorded a pin for Beekmantown at 132.

Gage Bourdeau (195), Cody Watts (285) and Michael Cartee (106) won decisions and Cody Laplante (182) by forfeit.

Bourdeau posted a 4-3 victory over Matt Lashway and Watts was a 5-4 winner over Scott Guerin.

The Peru at Saranac wrestling match, originally scheduled for Friday, has been postponed. No make-up date has yet to be announced.
