Goldfarb leads Eagles over Shamrocks

BEEKMANTOWN — Adam Goldfarb scored the lone goal of the game as Beekmantown defeated Salmon River, 1-0, in nonleague boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Goldfarb scored a first-half goal from Ryan Waterbury to give the Eagles a one-goal lead.

“This was a rather flat game,” Beekmantown coach Ryan Loucy said. “There was a lot of midfield play between the teams.”

The Eagles’ Matt LaClair had a one-save shutout while Salmon River’s Zach Smith stopped three shots. Beekmantown held a 13-3 shot advantage.

Keene 2, Wells 0

KEENE — Brandon Dumas scored two first-half goals to give the Beavers their Northern Soccer League win over the Indians.

Cougar Smith assisted on the first Dumas goal at 26:00 and Austin Brown on the second at 34:00.

Colton Venner turned away nine shots to record the shutout in net for Keene (2-6-1, 1-4-1), which picked up its first league victory. Wells held a 14-11 advantage in shots and Ben Brenan made eight stops for the Indians.

Monday

Schroon Lake 4, Crown Point 3

SCHROON LAKE — Tanner Stone’s goal with 2:33 gone in the second half proved to be the difference as the Wildcats defeated the Panthers.

Crown Point, Schroon Lake and Minerva/Newcomb are all tied for first place at the moment in Division III with 5-1 records.

Stone’s goal gave Schroon Lake a 4-2 lead and Gabe Macey tallied for Crown Point less than five minutes later to make it a one-goal game.

Jesse Shaughnessy scored two goals for the Wildcats, while Justin Lough and Stone had one each.

Macey scored two of the goals for the Panthers, while Joe Foote added the other. Crown Point held a 2-1 lead at one time in the first half before Schroon Lake rallied to take a 3-2 edge at the half.
