ONEONTA — The Plattsburgh State track and field teams competed at the Oneonta State May Meet over the weekend.
On the men's side Ryan Millar was the highest finisher after winning the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:28.33. Mike Schram finished second behind Millar with a time of 15:39.40 and James Biondi ran to a sixth-place finish with a 15:55.46 time.
In the 400 meter hurdles event, Josh Garren placed third with a 56.35 time and then he finished eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.13.
On the women's side the Cardinals had two second place finishers in Amy McCasland and Amanda Gadway. McCasland was runner-up in the 800 meter run after finishing with a time of 2:16.01, while Gadway finished second in the discus throw after a toss of 37.64m.
Ashley Gadway and Jackie Boyea also competed in the discus throw finishing fifth and eighth respectively. Ashley Gadway used a 34.32m toss and Boyea had a 30.64m throw.
Boyea threw for a third-place finish in the javelin after a 33.40m effort and Amanda Gadway finished 11th in the hammer throw after a 36.69m throw.
Stefanie Braun rounded out the Cardinal competitors with a sixth-place finish in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:52.23.
The ECAC Championships are up next for the Cardinals as they head to R.P.I. this weekend.
