G & G cruises to Slo-Pitch semis

WEST PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Slo-Pitch Softball League has entered its quarterfinal playoffs in the A, B and C Divisions — and one team is already through to the semifinals.

G & G Tire, the top-seeded team in the B Division, recorded a 3-0 sweep of Ron Hoy Construction in the best-of-five series and has moved into the semis.

The three other quarterfinal series in the B Division stand at 2-0, with Handy Dan D. Home Improvement over The Carpet Man/Ultimate Skin Solutions, Store Tavern over Loreman’s/Cadyville Auto and Latinville’s/CV Fitness over Mama’s Boys/ADK Trash looking for 3-game sweeps.

The wild A Division quarterfinal playoffs are off to a competitive start, with perennial power Labatt Blue and rival Legion Post 1619 squared at 1-game each. The two usually meet later in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, top-seeded Plattsburgh Wholesale/Big Earl’s/Buck’s has a commanding 2-0 series lead over Dragoon’s Farm Equipment. The T. Maliniak Masonry versus Leroux Fuels series is knotted at 1-all, while Kneucraft Fine Jewelry & Design has a 2-0 series lead over Recore Enterprises/Post 1618.

In the C Division, top-seeded Shumway Insurance is off to a 1-0 series lead over the Ganienkeh Gunners.

Girard’s Electrical Shockers sports a 2-1 advantage ofer ADT Mechanical and Wendy’s/Richard’s Grocery a 2-0 edge over Northern Cakes Redemption. The North Line Utilities/VFW Post 309 and Coors Light/Camoplast quarterfinal is squared at 1-all.
