P-R coaching forms for fall sent out
PLATTSBURGH — The Press-Republican sports department has sent out coaching forms for the 2012 fall season. All forms have been sent to the school’s athletic director. Forms need to be filled out by all fall coaches and returned to the Press-Republican sports department no later than Aug. 24.

Monday Night women’s bowling league to meet
PLATTSBURGH — There will be a meeting for the Monday Night Women’s Handicap League at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 27 at North Bowl Lanes. The league will begin bowling at 7 p.m. on September 10.

City Mixed bowling league sets meeting
PLATTSBURGH — There will be a meeting for the Sunday City Mixed League at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29 at North Bowl Lanes. The league will start its season at 6:30 p.m. on September 9.

Alburg to host Chamber Challenge golf tourney
ALBURG, Vt. — The Lake Champlain Islands Chamber will be holding the sixth-annual Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 13 at Alburg Golf Links. Included will be 18 holes of golf and a buffet to follow at the 19th Hole Restaurant.
The hole-in-one prize will be a Splash and Stay at Jay package for four for two nights. Hole and team sponsorships are available or just sign up your team to play. For more information, contact the Islands Chamber at 372-8400. Partial proceeds benefit the Ira Trombley Memorial Scholarship Fund that helps send an Islander to a post-secondary program each year.
Senior league seeking bowlers
PLATTSBURGH — The Guys and Gals Senior Bowlers are looking for bowlers. The group bowls on Wednesdays. There will be a meeting at 11 a.m. Sept. 5, followed by bowling at 12:30 p.m.

Willsboro Women hold 50th anniversary tourney
WILLSBORO — The 50th-annual Invitational Golf Tournament, a four-woman, step-aside scramble, was held at the Willsboro Golf Club on Aug. 17.
The Willsboro Women’s Golf Association meets for weekly play from late May until the end of August. For information on joining, contact the Willsboro Golf Club.
