AKWESASNE — Joey Ladouceur won a thriller for his 100th-career win in Pro Stocks at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night.
The final round of the Bailey Motor Company Pro Stock Series was set to go and series points leader Ladouceur had many things going on during the evening.
He had to start last after problems in the heat. Then he had a series title to worry about. To top it off, he was trying for his 100th-career DIRTCar Pro Stock win as well.
On a restart, George Renaud, who was on the pole, but was passed by Ladouceur on the top side of the race track. It was his fourth win of the season and second of the 3-race series.
P.J. Peters ended up second and Renaud third.
Chris Raabe took the checkers and recorded his second win of the season in the 358 Modifieds.
Raabe grabbed the lead from Brian McDonald lap 21 in traffic. A late yellow slowed the field for a 1-lap shootout and Raabe pulled out to a 2-car length lead. Points leader Billy Dunn finished third.
In the Sportsman, Dana Aikens, who hadn’t won since Brockville in 2010, was on a mission as he charged home to his first win of the season and third of his Sportsman career.
Aikens grabbed the lead on lap 10 and held off second-place finisher Jessica Power.
Bryan Green picked up his fifth win of the season and second in a row in the Mod Lites. Green held on Mathieu Robinson for the victory.
With four laps to go in the Bandit Division, Mathieu Aubin passed Jean Marc Larose and recorded his fourth win in a row and sixth of the season.
Next week, Crown Appeal will be on hand for Round 3 of the 97.3 CKON FM TUSA Mod Lite Series, along with a full show for Modified, Sportsman, Pro Stock and Bandit. The green flag drops at the track’s new starting time at 7:30 p.m.
