CHAZY —Following an early 1-0 deficit, Chazy rallied for a 3-1 season-opening win over Moriah in Northern Soccer League girls’ action Thursday.
Halie Snyder gave the Vikings the lead at 15:35 of the first half with Moriah’s only shot on goal in the opening stanza.
But Megan Reynolds pulled the Eagles into a 1-all tie with 26:33 gone in the first half.
Reynolds then assisted on Rachel Pombrio’s goal, which came with 6:03 gone in the second stanza and put Chazy ahead to stay.
Sophomore forward Hannah Laurin concluded the game’s scoring by hitting the back of the net with just over four minutes remaining.
Logan Baker made two saves in the Chazy nets, and Lauren Cross played an exceptional game in net for the Vikings with 16 stops.

PLATTSBURGH — Brooke Knight’s blast with15 minutes remaining in regulation proved to be the game-winning goal for the Hornets in their victory over the Patriots.
The Hornets sent a barrage of shots toward AuSable Valley netminder Nichole Pulsifer in the first half but only capitalized on one by Madison Trombley at 6:01 of the first.
Marle Curle was credited with two assists in the match, including one on Knight’s go-ahead goal.
Megan Strong scored the lone goal for the Patriots, tying the contest just 2:32 into the second half.

Kylie Austin assisted on the game-winner, which came with 30:00 gone in the first half.
Megan Campney recorded the shutout with eight saves. Stephanie Snide stopped six shots for the Bobcats.
“It was an evenly-played game,” said Northern Adirondack coach Sharon Relation. “We had some chances but weren’t able to finish on them.”

SCHROON LAKE — Abi Veverka tallied a pair of goals for Schroon Lake in a win over Division III foe Westport.
After a two-all tie at halftime, Lindsay Reynolds blasted the game-winning marker with just over two minutes remaining in the contest.
Molly Wisser, who played the entire game in net for the Wildcats, made seven saves on nine Westport shot attempts. Halfback Brendee Russell played a stellar game for the Eagles with a pair of first-half goals.
Due to a half-hour rain delay and threatening weather, the two schools opted to play two 30-minutes halves.

NCCS, Saranac postponed
The Northeastern Clinton at Saranac game was postponed due to inclement weather and will be played next Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Elsewhere, Beekmantown held a 2-0 lead over Saranac Lake when the contest was stopped due to the weather with 21:52 remaining in the first half. It will be resumed at a date to be announced.

Chateaugay 7, Hammond 0
MASSENA — Courtney Boyea assisted on three first-half goals and then scored twice in the second half as the Bulldogs opened their season with a one-sided win in Northern Athletic Conference nonleague play.
Alexis Beach tallied three goals, including two in the first half. Hannah Cook added a goal and two assists, while Katie Beach also scored.
Makayla Fleury (2) and Holly Zeldenrust (3) combined for five saves in net for Chateaugay, which held a 25-6 shot advantage.

CROWN POINT — Gabe Macey tallied four goals and Crown Point outscored Minerva/Newcomb, 7-3, in season-opening Northern Soccer League play.
Joe Foote added a goal and two assists for the Panthers, while Mike Enman and Kolby Pertak each contributed a goal.
Elias Arens, Jorge Bertomeu and Wesley LaBar scored goals for the Mountaineers, who held a 2-0 lead at one time before the Panthers tallied twice later in the half and twice in the second stanza for a 4-2 advantage.
Macey, sweeper Mike DuShane and keeper Brendon Crowningshield, who finished with 17 saves including one on a penalty shot, played well for Crown Point (2-0, 1-0).
Bertomeu was a standout offensively for Minerva/Newcomb, and LaBar, who also scored a goal, played well on defense.
