NCGC Member/Guest final round today

ROUSES POINT — The North Country Golf Club will hold the final round of its Annual Member/Guest Tournament today. First-round leaders and today’s tee times, which begin at 8:30 a.m., are as follows:

Schuyler Falls holding soccer registration

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Schuyler Falls Recreation Department is currently conducting final registration for its soccer program. All forms must be returned to the town hall by Monday, Aug 6. Late registrations will be placed on a waiting list.

Forms can still be picked up at the town hall, Rock’s Grocery and Morrisonville Redemption Center. For further information, contact the town hall at 563-1129 or Sam Campbell at 578-8597. 

 

Craig Wood to host Legion golf tourney

LAKE PLACID — The Post 326 American Legion Open Golf Tournament will be held August 19 at Craig Wood Golf & Country Club. Tee times will begin at 7 a.m.

There will be prizes for gross, net, Callaway, men’s and women’s longest drives and closest to the pins. The entry fee, which includes greens fees and an awards buffet at the American Legion home, is $30 for members and $45 for non-members. Dick Davis Memorial Aug. 18-19

MORIAH — The Moriah Country Club will host the Dick Davis Memorial on Aug. 18 and 19. The format is 36-hole best ball with flights established after Saturday play. Entry fees are $65 for members and $85 for nonmembers, and they include a practice round Friday, continental breakfast both days and Chicken BBQ on Saturday night. On Friday, there will also be a Dick Davis Memorial scramble at 4 p.m. with a clam bake for all the participants.

 

Moriah Shock tourney Aug. 25

MORIAH — On Saturday, Aug. 25, the Moriah Country Club will host the second-annual Moriah Shock NYSCOPBA Scholarship Four-Person Scramble at 10 a.m. Entry fees are $35 for members and $45 for nonmembers and include lunch at the turn and a steak dinner.

Whiteface Uphill Foot Race Sept. 22

WILMINGTON — As many as 200 runners are expected to participate in the 35th-annual Whiteface Mountain Uphill Foot Race on Sept. 22.

From the beginning of the Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway, runners will begin their eight-degree accent, which will take them to more than 4,600 feet above sea level.
