PLATTSBURGH — Dustin Currier's two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning Sunday lifted the Plattsburgh Cardinals to a 9-7 win over the Fourth Ward Timberjaxx in Champlain Valley Baseball League play.
Russell Holland then homered three times and drove in six runs in Game 2 as the Cardinals (13-5) completed the sweep at South Acres Field.
In Game 1, the Timberjaxx rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie it, at 7-all.
But, in the seventh Nate Durkee walked and Currier then hit his two-run shot with one out.
Burris, who picked up the pitching win in relief, Currier and Gary Duquette led the Cardinals with two hits each.
D.J. Barber and Pat Wallace each rapped a single and double for the Timberjaxx.
In Game 2, Holland drove in six of the Cardinals' 11 runs with his three home runs.
Gary Duquette added a home run and double, Currier two doubles, Chris King two hits and Hector Duquette a single in support of winning pitcher Burris, who recorded his second win on the day.
Tim Lafave finished with three hits for the Timberjaxx, while Jacques DeMars was next with a home run and single.

PLATTSBURGH — Scott Baker hit two home runs in the opener and the second-place Lyon Mountain Miners (14-4) swept the Fourth Ward A's at Lefty Wilson Field.
Baker had three hits and three RBI in Game 1, while winning pitcher David Waldron was three-for-three and scored five runs. Kyle Kowalowski added a home run and four RBI, and Nick Chase a double and four RBI.
Randy Brown had a double for the A's and scored three of their six runs.
The Miners held a 9-4 lead when their tallied seven runs in the top of the fourth.
In Game 2, Justin Besaw rapped a double and single for Lyon Mountain in support of winning pitcher Chris VanHouten. Kris Chase drove in three runs.
The Miners held a 5-0 lead when they broke it open with five runs in the third.
Five players had a hit each for the A's.
Expos 3, Padres 1 Expos by forfeit
SARANAC — The first-place Meron's Expos (15-3) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat the Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres (10-8) in the opener.
The Expos won the second game by forfeit when the Padres had their ninth player taken to the hospital for dehydration prior to the start of the game, leaving them with just eight.
Billy Davis went the distance for the win in Game 1 as he struck out eight, walked one and allowed five hits.
Losing pitcher Jordan Keysor also pitched well as he held the Expos to two hits over the first five innings. But, Meron's bunched together five hits in the sixth. Keysor also had eight strikeouts.
The Padres took a 1-0 lead in the third when Frank Brogna singled, Cory Trombley sacrificed and Shane Perrotte hit a RBI triple to right field.
The Padres nearly made it 2-0 in the fourth, but Expos' left fielder Andy Gooch got back to the fence and took a home run away from Mark Eggleston.
Then, in the sixth, Pat Shaughnessy singled, Gooch singled, Davis doubled in a run, Mark Passino singled in a run and Mike Bergman singled in another to account for the Expos' three-run rally.
Gooch led the Expos with two hits, while Perrotte and Jeff Norton paced the Padres with two each.
