PLATTSBURGH — Three former Plattsburgh State baseball players were chosen after tryouts this week to play in the New York State Developmental Baseball League.
Kyle Kowalowski, John Campbell and Billy Davis were among the 40 players selected.
"There are two teams in the league, and it's the same league that Zack Welch and Matt Dahlin played in," said Plattsburgh State head coach Kris Doorey.
"All three guys have worked hard and I'm proud of them. It's a great opportunity for them and they will play two weeks of games with hopes of signing a pro contract.
"Kyle worked out at first base and swung the bat real well, while John and Billy both made it as pitchers."
Both Kowalowski and Davis were playing this summer in the Champlain Valley Baseball League, with Kowalowski for the Lyon Mountain Miners and Davis for the Meron's/Renzi's Expos.
